First Empire Securities a Long Island based Institutional trading company was moving to a brand new, state-of-the-art building and wanted to create a high end New York City image in the suburbs.

Their new space was designed to accommodate 150 Traders on one side of the floor, Executive Offices on the other side and 40 administrative staff members in between.

Benhar Office Interiors was brought in as the furniture dealer by the architect, The Spector Group, five months before an anticipated move in.

Over the course of two months, the Benhar team assessed the customer’s program. We asked many questions of the client and their designers to identify what furniture solutions would be appropriate.

Mark Benhar, President of Benhar Office Interiors, worked closely with First Empire contacts and decision makers to come up with the right products to meet the budget, style, function and timing of the project. Stephanie Rella, First Empire’s Vice President said “Mark Benhar helped us focus on the right product solutions for our company”.

Once all orders were placed with the various manufacturer’s, the Benhar team of Mark Benhar, Bob Maurer and Angel Ayala tracked all the shipments, attended critical construction meetings, measured the site and managed the process. As the main principal of the firm, Mark Benhar made sure he was at all deliveries and helped manage the job. Benhar says “In order to hold true to our mission and promise to our clients, either my partner or myself is involved in the entire process. This project was extremely important to us and the only way to ensure it’s success was, for me to be there”.

First Empire Securities moved in one week before originally anticipated. They are now living in a beautiful high end, facility, that suits all their needs.

Deutsch Advertising, one of the industries hottest firms, part of The Interpublic Group of Companies has been working with Benhar for years. Benhar’s Principal, Bob Maurer is the Partner in Charge of the account.

The Benhar team has recently completed their seventh project for Deutsch. Five years ago, Deutsch was on a tear and moved 100,000 square feet to one of New York’s largest buildings, 111 Eight Avenue.

After interviewing several furniture dealers the client was very comfortable with the team of Mark Benhar and Bob Maurer. Barbara Forman, Deutsch’s Director of Office Services says “Mark and Bob struck us as sincere, knowledgeable and hard working, we had a comfort level with them.”

Most of Deutsch’s environment is open plan. In order to keep costs down the client uses a combination of drywall partitions (built by contractors) and work surfaces and storage provided by Evolve through Benhar Office Interiors. The seating in the open plan is the Hon “Mobius” chair. Bob Maurer, Partner at Benhar, says “the client needed an economical and practical solution, they decided to put more money in the higher exposure areas”.

The common areas, reception area and conference rooms are where the client and architect (the renowned Fred Schwartz of Schwartz Architecture) wanted more PUNCH. The Benhar team, along with Schwartz, came up with various classic pieces such as Vitra’s Meda Collection or Knoll’s Barcelona Collection.

Over the past five years the client and Benhar Office Interiors have formed a great working relationship. Barbara Forman of Deutsch has really come to rely on Bob Maurer of Benhar for all her furniture solutions. Barbara says “Bob has become more than just a vendor to me, he has become a friend and someone I can totally rely on. I wish all my vendors brought that to the table”.
